Catalogue
A collection of metadata catalogues and a search engine to facilitate
the discovery of geoscience data and publications based on a user-specified
text or geographical search and directs the user to the source of
the information.
Bedrock
Geology
A scalable and flexible digital representation of the nation's geological
framework from the map collections of Canada's geological survey
agencies, made available through the Internet.
Geochemistry
A Geochemical Data Model to facilitate the discovery and evaluation
of available geochemical information. A stepwise user interface
allows the user to build an up-to-date snap shot map of the collected
and analyzed geochemistry for a specific area of interest.
NADM
Tools
Tool development to support the infrastructure used to provide an
Internet-accessible, sale-independent, interoperable geospatial
database of Canadian geology.
Surficial
Geology
A Surficial Geology Data Model, built upon the NADM, that uses a
clear and common language that will allow traditional and non-traditional
users access to consistent surficial geology information.
XML/GML
XML (Extensible Markup Language) & GML (Geographic Markup Language)
are ASCII text-based HTML extensions that provide descriptions of
data models and corresponding geographic information. Schemas will
be created, using these languages, for mineral occurrence data,
geochemical data and geophysical data for the purposes of exchanging
documents, data and services over the internet.
